PEARSON AIRPORT (toronto)
Going to the Airport
There may be other stops to pick up passengers who wish to arrive at the airport around the same time as you. All passenger pickups are made from north to south. Rural pickups anywhere but south of Guelph will generally be made
first.
When you make your reservation here on our website or by phone, we will request your flight details. You will be assigned a tentative pickup time based on where your address is located and the time you wish to check in for your flight. Red Car always recommends the minimum check-in times as suggested by the airlines. However, we will try to accommodate the individual desires of our customers when possible. Booking well in advance of your travel affords you better choice with regard to pickup times.
The day before your trip, we will be working hard to finalize our schedule for the next day, and your final pickup time will be determined based on the addresses of other passengers assigned to your vehicle, the weather forecast, and the time of day (trips occurring during rush hour will generally be 30 to 60 minutes longer than less busy times of the day). You will be informed of your final pickup time during a confirmation phone call, generally starting after 3:00 PM the day before you travel.
When the driver arrives at your location and you board our vehicle, sink back in our comfortable seats as the driver takes on all the headaches and hassles of fighting traffic and weather. Our two-way radio system will keep the driver informed of any traffic problems ahead and allow him to choose an alternate route. Arrive at the airport refreshed and relaxed. The driver will drop you off right at the door where you check in for your flight.
From the Airport
You will again be riding with other passengers who have checked in at our airport desk (located inside both terminals) around the same time as you. All our arriving flights are satellite tracked, so we know whom to expect at our desk and when. That lets us plan efficient departures from the airport. Due to airport security regulations, our vehicles cannot sit parked at the curb; they wait in a holding area only minutes away from your terminal. When all the booked passengers have checked in at our desk, your driver will be radioed to bring his vehicle to the terminal curb (typically within 15-30 minutes of your check-in).
The driver will come into the terminal to collect the paperwork and receive further instructions from the agent at the desk. The driver will locate all his passengers and will load everyone and their luggage into his vehicle. There may be a stop at the other airport terminal for more passengers. Once the driver has everyone on board, the vehicle will depart the airport. The driver will determine the best way home, depending on the address locations of all his passengers and, of course, traffic problems.
Drop-offs are made starting in the south and progressing north. Rural drops anywhere but south of Guelph will generally be made last. When the driver has passengers going to multiple locations, at significant distances apart, he will try to arrange a meet with another driver to split the passengers into more manageable groups for a faster ride home. We know you’re anxious to get there!
Desk Locations at Pearson Airport
Red Car Service shares a check-in desk with other ground transportation companies in both Terminal 1 and Terminal 3.
At Terminal 1, our desk is located one floor below the Arrivals Level. Once you have collected your luggage and have exited the restricted area, you will exit out into the public concourse. Turn right and follow the signs for Ground Level or
Ground Transportation/Out of Town Van Services (not Taxis and Limos). And don’t go outside; our desk is inside the terminal. You will need to go downstairs to Ground Level and there is an elevator (on your right) and an escalator (on your left) within a short distance of each other to take you. If you use the elevator, walk straight out of the elevator and then turn left. Our desk is on your left. If you use the escalator, the desk is located at the bottom of it.
At Terminal 3, our desk is located on the Arrivals Level, between exit doors B and C. Don’t go outside; our desk is inside the terminal.
If you are arriving on international flights or flights from the United States, turn left when you exit baggage claim. Proceed along the terminal and past the car rentals (on your right) to the Ground Transportation Desk. If you are arriving on flights from within Canada, turn right when you exit baggage claim and walk a brief distance to Ground Transportation (on your left) located underneath the first escalator.
If you cannot find the Ground Transportation Desk please call 905-694-1900 (local call) and speak to the representative.
When you arrive at the Ground Transportation Desk, make sure you check in with the agent for Red Car. The agent will record your arrival and alert your driver when it’s time to pull up to the curb.
